It's here! The Open starts tomorrow...are you ready?!
Over the past couple of weeks, we have heard the buzz in the gym start to build as you all are getting ready for our first open workouts. With that, I have decided to run through some of the FAQ's we have been hearing around the gym.
Q: What if I can't workout with my team?
A: Totally cool...workout as your normal schedule allows. If you can't make a Friday workout and want to do the Open workouts, you can come in and do them on Saturday or Monday during Open gym times. Your team will still receive a point for you completing the workout!
Q: I want to come cheer my team on, but may not be able to have a full hour, is that ok?
A: YES! The place is going to be hopping tomorrow night with activity, should be a lot of fun
Q: How long will classes go?
A: We will do our best to get you in and out within an hour...that said, we will likely be running heats for these workouts in order to accommodate the large number of people (in the evenings). No worries...get here early, warmup and jump into the first available heat. Your teammates, and everyone else will be there cheering you on!.
Q: How do we earn points?
+1 Point – Attendance: every member of a team that completes an Open workout at The Mill each week earns one point. Maximum one point per athlete per workout. This goes for Rx AND Scaled competitors!
+1 Point – Top 3: every male AND female member who places among the top 3 for each workout gets an extra point for their team. The top 3 SCALED athlete scores AND the top 3 RX athlete scores will count.
+1 Point – Check in via FB at The Mill on Open Days
+2 Points – Pictures, or Videos posted to The Mill Facebook Page (as much as you like))
+5 Points (team) – Spirit: The team with the most noise, pride, and PRESENCE each week will receive 5 bonus points.
+8 Points (team) BONUS – Team Bonding: If your team gets together socially outside of the gym (ALL of you – pic posted on our FB page as proof)…you get points. This is a one-time bonus. It can be done at any point during the 5 weeks.
+1 bonus points - A weekly challenge will be tossed in to the mix. Record yourself completing this challenge and earn a point with your team! (details to come)
Weekly scores will be posted on the whiteboard in the gym, and also in the Members FB group page.
