How bad do you want to succeed?

The bar is loaded.

You get underneath and stand it up

Its heavy.

You take two steps back and plant your feet.

You take a deep breath.

Hips back and down, you reach depth.

Drive up and lock out, you hit that first rep easier than expected.

You take a deep breath.

Hips back and down, you reach depth.

Driveeee up and lock out, you hit that second rep a little harder than expected.

You take a deep breath.

Hips back and down, you reach depth.

Driveeeeeee upppp and lock out, you just barely hit that third rep and you have two left.

At this moment before you take your next deep breath, you begin to doubt your commitment.

You felt how hard it was to complete that last rep and don’t really want to go through it again.

However you don’t want to quit when you only two reps away and so close to finishing strong.

Welcome to the fourth rep.

Like everything in life you want there comes a point when everything starts off easy.

However as your progress things start to become harder and harder.

You have never really been a quitter but, the thought of continuing on gets difficult to imagine.

You know how bad you want to finish yet how easy it would be to end it now.

Pretend that you gave it everything you had and gracefully bow out.

Maybe you would continue again another time?

The chances of that happening though are slim to none.

The truth of the matter is that anything you try to achieve in life will be difficult.

You might even say the more difficult to reach the more fruitful the outcome.

It is the process, the struggle, the grind that is what really makes the end worth the means.

How long will that hard awful grind last?

Just two more reps.

How bad will those two reps feel?

How bad too you want to succeed?

See you in class,

Rene
